Virginia Highland

Through lean years of suburban flight, Virginia-Highland proudly stayed its course—historic, welcoming, and beautiful. Named for the intersection of Virginia Avenue and North Highland, VaHi took off in the 1890s when it became a streetcar suburb for the famous Nine Mile Trolley.

Home to Summerfest and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our team says this is the place for classic Craftsman bungalows with skyline views of Downtown and Midtown—many designed by pioneering female architect, Leila Ross Wilburn.

Venture toward North Highland and you’ll find storefronts brimming with cafes, restaurants, gift shops and three of Atlanta’s oldest bars: Atkins Park (1922),Moe’s n Joes (1947) and George’s (1961). From Southern Living to Atlanta magazine, VaHi makes all the “best neighborhoods” lists. We think it might make yours, too.
